The First Regular Session of the 128th Maine Legislature convened Wednesday, December 7, 2016 and adjourned sine die, Wednesday, August 2, 2017, the longest legislative session in recent history. The Legislature is currently convened for the second regular session, which is scheduled to end on April 15, 2018.

MAINE'S STATE BUDGET
There is a wealth of information on Maine's 600-page biennial budget as well as other resources relating to state spending at the Legislature's nonpartisan Office of Fiscal and Program Review. Below is a link to download a series of basic charts I developed showing the biennial budget as it appeared a few years ago. While specific numbers may have changed slightly, the general areas of income and expense illustrate how the state allocates its resources.
