In November, I accepted an invitation from the Canadian Government to spend a couple of days in Fredericton to discuss Maine' s relationship with New Brunswick. Canada is Maine's largest trading partner, and New Brunswick accounts for a very significant proportion of that partnership. We spent time learning about border security and various trade intiatives and issues between Maine and New Brunswick. We also spent a morning at New Brunswick's unicameral Legislative Assembly, enjoying the contrasts between their approach to lawmaking (including a lively question period) and our own. In the photo I am signing the guest book at the assembly.
